Boxers or briefs? Fries or chips? Band or DJ? These are some of life’s toughest debates. For our purposes here, we’ll be discussing the question of whether to hire a band or a DJ for your wedding reception entertainment.

The reception music and dance floor atmosphere can often make or break a wedding reception. Of course, the bride and groom will enjoy themselves no matter what. However, your guests may not be as easy to please. In retrospect, this was a big mistake. There is a time and a place to use paper that you know will be left behind, forgotten under chairs and on reception tables (not by everyone; some people like Dear Old Granny will cherish it as a keepsake), and this is it. The program sets the tone for your ceremony, and make guests feel involved and informed. If you’re unsure about where to begin and what to include in your wedding program, here are a few tips to get you going:

  • A Wedding Surprise!

Photography by Whitebox Weddings- see more at www.whiteboxweddings.com

I came across a great wedding story in the newspaper that I want to share with you. A couple (names to be withheld) had a unique idea for what could be called a piggyback wedding. They chose a holiday when the people they cared about most would be gathering for a celebratory dinner. The home had been festively decorated, the guests were stylishly attired. Everyone was in good spirits.
